When I was a child I used to latch hook. It was fun at that time. But now the thought of individually hooking so many strands of yarn is not the least bit appealing to me. However, I like the look of yarn in artwork. So, intarsia crochet seems like the way to go.
I'd been googling and the intarsia that I was seeing looked very challenging. I really just want to make two simple butterfly pieces to hang on the wall where my daughter's bed is. But I wasn't finding anything that basic. Then I found Bethintx1. I doubt she is aware of it, but she is now my new crochet teacher. She's teaching me (and many others I'm sure) intarsia crochet, step by step.
I watched the videos below and tomorrow I will print out the simple heart chart and follow along.
