Earlier this year I stated that I was going to make homemade toys for the children. Well, I never really went anywhere with that. However, I am going to make another attempt to get in touch with my inner craftiness. I found a very cute (and hopefully not very difficult) project to complete. I am going to make:
a mailbox,
a mailbag, and
fabric postcards.
Materials on Hand
I'm going to try not to purchase too much for this project. I have a jean skirt that should have enough material for the outside of the mailbox. I also have a large piece of royal blue felt that I got for 72 cents off of the remnant table at Hobby Lobby awhile back. I'll use that for the inside of the mailbox. I will use leftover fabric scraps for the postcards. And I have some navy blue fabric in my stash that will suffice for the mailbag.
Substitutions
I'm going to use Velcro instead of magnets on the mailbox.
Shopping List
Velcro
plastic canvas
floral wire
I miss the free shipping with any order over $25 at Crafts Etc. Believe me, it was always easy for me to find $25 worth of craft supplies. Earlier this month it was $4.95 shipping on $25 or more. I'm not sure if that special is still in effect. But I guess I'll find out momentarily after I order the above mentioned (and a few other) items.
